Version v1 · Effective: 2 September 2026 · PCB CAM Online Free
These terms apply exclusively to PCB CAM Online Free provided by Schindler & Schill GmbH when an imported design contains a netlist and components. They do not apply to Gerber-like designs without this level of information or to other paid product versions.
Alternatively, the user may choose the full version, PCB CAM Online. It does not create a development copy, store a design copy for analysis or training, or use the PCB data to improve products or models.
Schindler & Schill GmbH permits the design to be displayed and technically analysed without an additional fee. In return, the user grants the release described in these terms. Without this release, the content-rich design will not be displayed in PCB CAM Online Free and will not be stored permanently.
The user represents that they are authorised to transmit the design and to grant Schindler & Schill GmbH all rights described in these terms. In particular, the user represents that the release does not infringe third-party copyright, intellectual-property or trade-secret rights, confidentiality agreements, or requirements imposed by an employer, principal, or customer. Possession of or access to a design alone does not necessarily authorise the user to grant these rights. If there is any doubt about this authority, the design must not be released. Schindler & Schill GmbH may reject a release or suspend, restrict, or delete an already released design where there are concrete indications that the required authority or rights were not available.
The original uploaded file and temporary files created for import, conversion and display are stored only for the current session. They are deleted immediately when the viewer session is closed normally. If normal closing cannot be completed or the session ends unexpectedly, inactive session data is removed automatically, typically within 5 to 65 minutes after the last recorded activity.
This deletion process does not apply to the separate sanitised ODB++ development copy created only after the user has explicitly granted the design release. Identifying metadata, including names, email addresses, project or customer identifiers, user and computer names, and local paths, is removed or replaced from this copy where present and technically detectable. Only this sanitised copy is stored permanently in a protected internal area. This sanitisation does not modify the version displayed to the user.
Sanitisation is intended to remove unnecessary personal identifiers. It does not mean that the technical design is anonymous or that confidentiality obligations, trade-secret rights, copyright, or other third-party rights cease to apply.
The user grants Schindler & Schill GmbH a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual right to use the sanitised technical design version and the technical information contained in it or derived from it for the purposes described in these terms. This includes, in particular, storing, reproducing, technically converting, making available internally, and evaluating the version by automated or manual means, as well as analysing technical information such as component identifiers, pin assignments, nets, connectivity, and circuit structures and deriving technical findings from it.
Use is limited to technical analysis and quality assurance; developing, testing, improving, and commercially using PCB, CAD, CAM, and manufacturing software; developing and commercially using recognition and evaluation methods; and training, validating, and improving statistical and AI-based methods and models. Schindler & Schill GmbH may permit technical service providers acting on its behalf to exercise these rights solely to the extent necessary for these purposes and subject to appropriate confidentiality and protection obligations. Technical service providers may process released design data only on behalf of Schindler & Schill GmbH and may not use it to train or improve their own or publicly available AI or machine-learning models.
Schindler & Schill GmbH may combine technical information and derived findings from the released design with information and findings from other lawfully available or released datasets for the purposes described above.
Schindler & Schill GmbH will not publish the stored version as a publicly accessible customer design and will not sell or license it as a standalone design file. In particular, it will not be provided to other customers as a design file. Access is limited to authorised personnel and technical service providers where required for the purposes above. Derived technical findings, patterns, rules, statistical or AI-based models, algorithms, and software functions may also be used commercially in products and services of Schindler & Schill GmbH, provided that the stored customer design itself is not disclosed or made available as a standalone design.
Schindler & Schill GmbH will not use a released design for the purpose of manufacturing, reproducing, or commissioning the manufacture of the specific customer product represented by that design.
The granted technical rights of use are perpetual. They apply subject to mandatory statutory rights relating to personal data and third-party rights that cannot validly be waived or licensed to Schindler & Schill GmbH by the user. Later termination of the user account or use of PCB CAM Online Free does not affect rights already validly granted or abstract results already created lawfully.
The free function is provided subject to technical availability. Statutory liability remains unaffected.
The PCB CAM Online Free privacy policy explains the processing of personal data, recipients, retention, and data-subject rights. The grant of technical rights is a contractual design release and not consent under data-protection law.
The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise. If any provision is invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
